Chemicals and Petrochemicals Manufacturers Association is the apex forum representing the INR 55,000 Cr. (USD 12.5 bn) worth Indian Petrochemical Industry. Established in 1993, the Association offers its members a podium to collectively present their ideas, voice concern and offer suggestions on relevant issues. It plays a central role, providing real-time linkage between the industry, the Government and the society. It interacts with the policy authorities and industry associations to develop and maintain harmonious and conducive business conditions.
The Association having registered under the Indian Societies Act is widely recognized as the national level apex body of the Indian Petrochemical Industry by all Ministries and Departments of Govt. of India, apex Chambers of Commerce and Industry and other related Association in India and aboard. CPMA is affiliated to the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII). The Association is also a Steering Committee Member of the Asia Petrochemical Industry Conference (APIC).
The activities of the Association covers wide spectrum of Petrochemical Industry. There are various sub-committees constituted to effectively focus on different branches such as Polyolefins, Vinyls, Styrenics, Glycols, Elastomers and Surfactants. CPMA has also taken lead to promote and set up the Indian Centre for Plastic in the Environment (ICPE) to deal with all environmental issues connected with usage of plastics. |
